Letter of Jeremiah 21-23
New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition

21 Bats, swallows, and birds alight on their bodies and heads, and so do cats. 22 From this you will know that they are not gods, so do not fear them.(A)

23 As for the gold that they wear for beauty, it[a] will not shine unless someone wipes off the tarnish, for even when they were being cast, they did not feel it.(B)
